Marcus Rashford’s Barcelona future has been thrown into doubt by recent reports suggesting that the La Liga giants are considering an abrupt termination of his loan and send him back to Manchester United but journalist Fabrizio Romano has now dismissed those claims.
The club is reportedly satisfied with both the loan deal and Rashford’s attitude, emphasizing that there is no discussion of terminating his loan from Manchester United early.
Softfootball reported that Rashford joined Barcelona on a season-long loan from Manchester United, with a buy option set around €30m for the summer of 2026. So far, the English forward has made limited appearances, including one start where he was substituted at halftime, but both management and coach Hansi Flick are giving him time to settle into the squad.

Originally, Barcelona had considered other winger targets such as Nico Williams and Luis Diaz, but with those deals not materializing, Rashford became their preferred option.
Media speculation portraying him as “shy” or “lost” on the pitch has been strongly rejected by club insiders, who reaffirm his value and importance to the team.
According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano via his YouTube page, the report that Barcelona are considering to terminate Rashford’s loan deal in the winter are wide off the mark.
The Catalans apparently value the Englishman and do not plan to offload him in the middle of the campaign. They have even informed Rashford’s entourage that they trust the player and believe in his abilities.
The La Liga champions expect him to regain his old form, which will help add a new dimension to Hansi Flick’s attack. It could also help United offload him permanently next summer.
The England forward still has almost a full season to prove himself at Camp Nou and win a permanent transfer. A £30 million buy option was included in the loan deal, giving Barcelona flexibility.
The Red Devils will now hope that Rashford can convince the Catalans to exercise that clause by the end of this campaign. For now, he remains firmly in Flick’s plans and could feature again when Barca host Valencia in their next La Liga game on September 14.
