Barcelona and Marc-Andre Ter Stegen have finally settled their fall out as the goalkeeper is now integrated back into the squad. Softfootball had reported how the German goalkeeper refused to move on from Barcelona despite links to multiple clubs.
Ter Stegen had been told by Hansi Flick the decision of the club to part ways with him this summer. He was outcast during the preseason tours of the team and trained separately throughout the team’s summer camping.

Softfootball believes Barcelona wanted Ter Stegen out so as enable them reduce the wage structure of the club. Ter Stegen is one of the highest earners at the club and with their continuous financial struggles, they were looking for ways to offload high earners.
But it does seem like things have now settled between the two parties as the captain hand band has now been returned to the German goalkeeper. Ter Stegen had been at Barcelona since 2014 making the current longest serving player of the club.
He penned an emotional letter to the fans after he decided to stay back at Camp Nou and assured the fans he will be back at his best. The goalkeeper will undergo a surgery to an ailing back injury that made him stay out of action for a long period last term.
Following his absence, Barcelona have new goalkeeper Joan Garcia who they got from city rivals, Espanyol.
Barcelona also announced that Ter Stegen has signed his medical authorizations.
Reporting the news via his verified X handle, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano posted about the new bromance.
He wrote:
“OFFICIAL: Barça have returned the first team captaincy to Ter Stegen with immediate effect.
“Ter Stegen has signed the authorization for the Club’s medical services to process the medical report to LaLiga”, Barça confirm.
The club will now focus on defending the La Liga title as well trying to better the semifinal finish in the UEFA Champions League last season.
