Auxerre are in danger of going back to Ligue 2 after only one season in Ligue 1. After finishing 11th last season, their form has dropped badly.
Softfootball reported They have lost their last three league matches against Lille, Brest and Lens, and they were also knocked out of the Coupe de France by Monaco.
Their most recent match ended in a narrow 1-0 defeat away to league leaders Lens. That result left Auxerre in 17th place, level on goal difference with bottom side Metz.

Even so, they are only two points behind Nantes and could move into the relegation playoff place if they manage a surprise win against the champions. Auxerre have been stronger at home this season, winning most of their points at the Stade de l’Abbé-Deschamps.
Before this game, Auxerre shared an update on their official X handle. The club posted their weekly schedule and confirmed that the players had returned to training ahead of the home match against PSG, showing focus and determination.

However, their away form is still a worry, as PSG have won only two of their last six away matches and recently lost 2-1 to Sporting Lisbon in the Champions League.
