Arthur Okonkwo and Stanley Nwabali were part of the Super Eagles squad that continued preparations for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers with an evening training session in Uyo on Tuesday, September 22, 2026.
The players took to the training pitch at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium as head coach Éric Chelle and his technical team began putting the squad through its preparations for Friday’s meeting with Madagascar.
Both goalkeepers worked alongside the team’s goalkeeping coach under the Uyo floodlights as Nigeria stepped up its build-up to the opening qualifier.
The training provided Chelle with an opportunity to begin working on his plans for the match, while the players continued to build their sharpness and understanding ahead of the competitive encounter.
A total of 23 players took part in the session, with the squad made up of two goalkeepers, nine defenders, four midfielders and eight forwards.
