Speaking ahead of Arsenal’s UEFA Champions League clash against Inter Milan, Arteta revealed that Edu’s exit happened very quickly but praised his contribution to the club’s progress.

The Spaniard described Edu as a key figure in Arsenal’s recent development, highlighting the strong working relationship they built from the moment he arrived at the club. Arteta said he was personally grateful for the support he received and acknowledged the significant role Edu played in helping shape the current project.

Arteta also wished the Brazilian success in his next chapter, adding that the club respects his decision to pursue a new professional opportunity.

Addressing concerns over Arsenal’s future following Edu’s departure, Arteta insisted the club’s long-term vision remains unchanged. He stressed that the ownership remains ambitious, while the leadership team possesses the experience, passion and knowledge required to continue driving the club forward.

The Arsenal boss added that Edu’s exit also creates an opportunity for someone else to step into the role, noting that the Brazilian leaves behind a strong structure capable of maintaining the club’s upward trajectory.
