Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has revealed he’s exploring the possibility of deploying young talent Ethan Nwaneri as an out-and-out striker, citing his natural instinct in front of goal.
The comments came ahead of Arsenal’s Carabao Cup quarter-final clash with Crystal Palace, with Arteta outlining just how versatile he views the 17-year-old’s future role within the squad.

Softfootball reports that the Spaniard was full of praise for Nwaneri’s attacking instincts. He said:
Ethan can play as a right attacking midfielder or a left attacking midfielder. He can play as a right winger, and there is another position I think he can develop into, No. 9.
Arteta pointed specifically to the youngster’s composure in front of goal as evidence he could thrive in a more central role going forward. He added:
He has got the goal in front of him, and he looks at the goal, and he has a tremendous ability to put the ball in the back of the net.
