Arsenal have suffered another injury setback after manager Mikel Arteta confirmed Raheem Sterling is expected to spend several weeks on the sidelines with a knee injury.
The Chelsea loanee missed Arsenal’s emphatic 5-1 Premier League victory over Crystal Palace after sustaining the injury during training, adding to the Gunners’ growing list of unavailable players.
Softfootball understands Sterling’s absence comes at a particularly difficult time for Arteta, who is already without Bukayo Saka, Ben White, Takehiro Tomiyasu, and Oleksandr Zinchenko.

Providing an update on the winger’s condition, Arteta said:
He is going to be out for weeks. He needs some further testing tomorrow to understand the extent of the injury. It is his knee. Unfortunately, he is going to be out for a while.
Sterling has struggled to establish himself since arriving on loan from Chelsea, making limited first-team appearances this season. His latest injury is another setback in a campaign that has been disrupted by fitness issues and fierce competition for places.
Arsenal will now hope their depleted squad can maintain momentum during a crucial period in both the Premier League and domestic cup competitions.
