Arsenal still believe in Premier League title push

Liverpool extended their lead at the top of the Premier League to 16 points after a comeback victory over Southampton at Anfield. However, Arsenal still have two games in hand, keeping their hopes alive in the title race as they prepare to face Manchester United at Old Trafford on Sunday.

Arsenal’s recent struggles have seen their title aspirations take a hit, with a shock home defeat to West Ham United followed by a goalless draw against Nottingham Forest. Mikel Arteta’s side failed to score in either of those games, but they delivered a dominant 7-1 victory against PSV Eindhoven in the Champions League midweek.

The Norwegian captain insists the team must keep pushing forward, believing their title race experience over the last few years proves that anything is possible. He acknowledges that they are in a difficult position but hopes they can find their best form again in the closing stages of the season.

Despite last season’s strong finish, Arsenal were unable to overtake Manchester City, falling short even after winning six consecutive games. Martin Odegaard remains optimistic that history can play out differently this time, especially if Liverpool drop points in the coming weeks.

Manchester United have endured a disappointing season under Ruben Amorim, currently sitting in the bottom half of the table. However, they have produced strong performances against Manchester City and Liverpool, while also eliminating Arsenal from the FA Cup at the Emirates.

Despite United’s poor home form, with five defeats in their last seven league matches, Odegaard remains wary of their ability to cause an upset. He recognizes their individual talent and stresses the importance of Arsenal being fully prepared for a tough challenge at Old Trafford.

Arsenal’s focus now is on maintaining consistency in both the Premier League and Champions League. Odegaard hopes they can replicate last season’s late surge, ensuring they take advantage of any slip-ups from Liverpool while also progressing in Europe.

With crucial fixtures ahead, Arteta’s side knows they must deliver top performances to stay in contention for the title. The Gunners are determined to fight until the end, believing they still have a chance to make this season a memorable one.
