Jack Grealish, who surprised George for Christmas earlier in the week returned to the Toffees line-up after missing out against Chelsea and played for 90 minutes in this pulsating encounter at the Hill Dickinson stadium.
The game was well contested by both sides but Arsenal had the edge at the start of the encounter and their pressure paid off as an Everton defender blocked a cross with his hands inside the penalty area and after review from the Video Assistant Referee (VAR), the penalty was awarded and Viktor Gyokeres stepped up to finish with aplomb.

The game became even more balanced as Everton searched for the equalizer, pushing more men forward as they gave their all against Arsenal. Willian Saliba brought down Everton striker, Barry inside the penalty box but after a review from VAR, the decision was penalty as Arsenal escaped.
Everton pushed forward but Arsenal held on for the all-important victory that took them back to the top of the league with 39 points, two points above Manchester City while Everton sit 10th with 24 points.
