Arsenal have made contact with Bruno Guimarães’ camp as they explore midfield reinforcements ahead of the new season.

This comes after Arsenal won their first Premier League title in 22 years but fell short in the 2026 UEFA Champions League final, losing to Paris Saint-Germain.

The Gunners have made an exploratory approach similar to the one previously made by Manchester United before the transfer window officially opened. However, Softfootball understands no contact has been made with Newcastle United, and as of Thursday evening, the Magpies have no intention of selling the Brazilian midfielder.

Bruno Guimarães has long been admired by Arsenal, who tracked him before his move to Newcastle, and reports suggest he could be available for around £60 million this summer.

Arsenal are also assessing several midfield options, with Alex Scott, Ayyoub Bouaddi and Sandro Tonali all featuring on their shortlist. Andrea Berta is understood to be evaluating the available targets before deciding whether to submit any formal bids.

Newcastle are now said to be ‘braced for an approach’ from Arsenal for Guimaraes, who could join with Aston Villa and England star Morgan Rogers.
