Al Ittihad push on in pursuit of Rodrigo Mora after €63m bid was rejected by Porto

Saudi Pro League side Al Ittihad are still pushing to secure the signing of Porto sensation Rodrigo Mora after their €63m plus 10% offer was rejected by the Portuguese club.

The 18-year-old widely regarded as one of the most exciting attacking prospects in Europe scored ten goals and provided four assists across all competitions for Porto last season, earning links with some European giants like PSG.

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano via his X account, Al Ittihad remains in pursuit of Rodrigo after their €63m plus 10% offer was rejected. FC Porto have made their stance clear: only the full €70m release clause will be enough. Despite the setback, the Saudi club are preparing to return with a fresh bid. The post reads:

“Al Ittihad are still trying to find a solution for Rodrigo Mora after €63m plus 10% bid rejected.

FC Porto are clear, €70m as value of the release clause or nothing… and Al Ittihad are trying again.”

Porto maintain that the only way Mora will leave is if a club triggers his €70 million release clause, just €7 million above Al Ittihad’s last offer.  Mora is interested in the move, and his emotional reaction during Porto’s 4-0 win over Casa Pia on Sunday has fueled speculation that a transfer to Saudi Arabia could be imminent.

A product of Porto’s academy, Mora enjoyed a breakout 2024-25 campaign, establishing himself as an essential piece in both the Primeira Liga and Europa League.

His impressive form earned him a call-up from Roberto Martínez for Portugal national team during the last international break, where he collected a UEFA Nations League medal alongside Cristiano Ronaldo.

In an earlier post, Softfootball reported that former Real Madrid defender, Lucas Vazquez has sealed a surprise transfer to Bayer Leverkusen nearly two months after the experienced full-back departed Los Blancos earlier this summer.
