The update included an image of the 27-year-old in club training gear surrounded by medical equipment and staff support, smiling and giving a thumbs-up in the recovery room, signaling encouraging progress and highlighting the club’s careful approach to his recovery during a crucial stage of the season, after he had been sidelined for around three weeks following the injury announcement in late February 2026.

His return could come at an important time for Al-Hilal, who currently lead the Saudi Pro League by five points as the campaign enters its decisive months.

Before the injury setback, Al-Dawsari had been an influential figure for the team. He played a key role in Al-Hilal’s emphatic 6-0 victory over Al‑Okhdood Club in the league, providing the assist for the opening goal scored by Karim Benzema in the 31st minute.

Born in Riyadh on December 19, 1998, Al-Dawsari joined Al-Hilal’s youth academy in 2011 and has remained loyal to the club throughout his professional career since breaking into the first team around 2018. Known for his versatility, he has featured in multiple roles including central midfield, defensive midfield, and occasionally left-back.

One of the most memorable moments of his career came during the 2021 AFC Champions League final, when he scored the fastest goal in the competition’s history just 16 seconds into the match against Pohang Steelers, helping Al-Hilal secure a 2-0 victory and their record fourth continental title.

Over the years, he has been part of one of the most successful eras in the club’s history, winning multiple Saudi Pro League titles, AFC Champions League trophies, King’s Cups, and Saudi Super Cups. Internationally, he has also earned more than 40 appearances for the Saudi Arabia national football team.

With Al-Hilal already through to the quarterfinals of the AFC Champions League unbeaten this season, the club will hope Al-Dawsari’s steady recovery allows him to return soon and strengthen their midfield for the final stretch of both domestic and continental competitions.

Elsewhere, VfL Wolfsburg have confirmed that veteran goalkeeper Pavao Pervan has signed a one-year contract extension that will keep him at the club until June 30, 2027, extending his stay with the Bundesliga side to nine seasons since joining from Linzer ASK in 2018.
