Ademola Lookman and Fiorentina goalkeeper David De Gea have been ranked as the joint best performing players in Serie A after the first thirteen matches of the current season.
The ranking was compiled by Football Italia based on average player ratings from various Italian sports newspapers for footballers who have made at least fifty percent of appearances this term.
Softfootball learned that Lookman jumped to the top of the standings after scoring his seventh league goal in ten games during Atalanta’s recent victory over Parma.
The former Everton winger has been in brilliant form for his club. De Gea sits level with Lookman on average ratings after keeping another clean sheet in a two to zero win over Como, helping his team secure seven consecutive victories.
Atalanta forward Mateo Retegui completed the top three after finding the net early against Parma, and he currently leads the division in goalscoring.
Despite losing to Atalanta, former Real Madrid talent Nico Paz also ranks highly among the best performers, alongside Moise Kean and Nuno Tavares who share the fifth spot in these latest rankings. They have all shown great consistency on the pitch recently.
