The club revealed that Odobert will see a specialist next week before undergoing surgery, after which he will begin a rehabilitation programme under the supervision of Spurs’ medical staff. Tottenham added a message of support, stating they are fully behind the player during his recovery.

Odobert was forced off with a knee injury in the first half of Spurs’ match against Newcastle. Following contact, his knee dropped into a valgus position, a mechanism commonly associated with ACL injuries. The presence of a visible “calf ripple” further increased concern among medical observers.
While there remains a small chance the injury could be limited to a meniscus issue, an isolated MCL injury, or a bone bruise, these outcomes are considered unlikely based on the initial assessment.
If the ACL rupture is confirmed, Odobert is expected to be sidelined for nine months or more. A meniscus injury would typically require three to four months of recovery, while a bone bruise could see a return in under a week.

Spurs’ medical team were also seen conducting a series of special tests usually associated with ACL evaluation, though further scans are required for final confirmation.
The injury adds to a bleak period for Tottenham, coming just days after the club dismissed head coach Thomas Frank following eight months in charge, with Spurs sitting 16th in the Premier League and drifting toward the relegation zone.
Elsewhere, activity continues in the transfer market, with Raheem Sterling recently completing a move to Feyenoord on a free transfer, signing until the end of the season.
