The winger arrived on the South Coast after Bournemouth reached a verbal agreement in principle worth around €35 million with Vasco da Gama. Rayan signed a five-and-a-half-year contract that includes a reported €100 million release clause, underlining just how highly the club rates him. He was brought in as a direct replacement for Antoine Semenyo, who completed a move to Manchester City earlier this month.

Around the league, late drama has been the theme. Bournemouth themselves stunned Liverpool with a dramatic 3–2 win at the Vitality Stadium on January 24, with Amine Adli firing home a 95th-minute winner to hand Liverpool their first defeat since November.

According to Softfootball, Bournemouth’s early signs with Rayan point to a smart piece of business and if his debut is anything to go by, Cherries fans are in for a fun ride.
