France international Dayot Upamecano is set to extend his contract with Bundesliga champions, Bayern Munich until 2030, Softfootball understands.
Bayern Munich have always been optimistic that the defender will stay despite rumours that he is likely to leave the club in the summer with his current contract expected to expire at the end of the season.

According to football transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano via his official X handle informs that Upamecano has given the greenlight for his contract extension at Bayern Munich. He wrote:
Dayot Upamecano will formally sign soon his new deal at Bayern until June 2030. Exclusive story on new deal accepted, 100% confirmed, Upa’s ready to put pen to paper. There will be release clause + many clubs were keen, no bid from Real Madrid.

Recently, Kylian Mbappe tried to lure Upamecano to Real Madrid and the defender flirted with the idea of moving away from the Allianz Arena but stayed back at Bayern Munich as the club were keen to keep him beyond the summer.
Interestingly, Bayern Munich has failed to win their last two matches with a loast and a draw but leads comfortable on top of the Bundesliga table as Vincent Kompany and his men are hoping to retain the title this season.
