Mike Maignan has committed his future to AC Milan after signing a new long-term contract that will keep him at San Siro until June 2030, with an option for a further year until 2031.
The agreement comes as a major boost for the Rossoneri, especially with the French goalkeeper previously set to be out of contract in June 2026. As reported by SoftFootball during earlier negotiations, Milan had been confident of reaching an agreement, and that belief has now been rewarded

The renewal, as shared by Fabrizio Romano on his official X account, was completed today, with Maignan putting pen to paper at the club’s headquarters. An official announcement is expected shortly, but the deal effectively ends months of uncertainty surrounding one of Milan’s most important players.
Fabrizio Romano reported:
Mike Maignan has signed new long term deal at AC Milan valid for next four years plus one year option, 2031. Excellent news for AC Milan as Maignan was out of contract in June 2026.
The timing also follows Maignan’s recent recognition for his performances this season, having been named AIC Player of the Month for November, a reminder of his standing in Serie A

Under the terms of the new contract, Maignan becomes one of the highest earners in the Milan squad. He is set to receive a net salary of around €5 million per year, with performance-related bonuses that could take the figure higher.
The improved deal reflects both his importance on the pitch and his leadership role within the dressing room. Talks between the player and the club had slowed at different points over the past year, but discussions regained momentum in late 2025.
The arrival of Massimiliano Allegri and the influence of goalkeeping coach Claudio Filippi were key factors, helping Maignan rediscover top form and feel central to Milan’s sporting project.

The extension also shuts down interest from several top European clubs, including Chelsea, Bayern Munich, Juventus, Barcelona and Manchester United, all of whom had been monitoring his contract situation. With Maignan now secured long-term, Milan can plan with stability in goal.
Since joining from Lille in 2021, Maignan has been a cornerstone of Milan’s success, playing a decisive role in their 2021–22 Serie A title. His renewed commitment strengthens Milan’s ambitions and underlines the club’s intent to build around proven leaders.
