Argentina international, Maher Carrizo is set to travel to the Netherlands this weekend for his medical with Ajax ahead of his switch to the Dutch giants this January, Softfootball understands.
Ajax recently completed a loan deal for Ukraine international Oleksandr Zinchenko from Arsenal as they look to rebuild their squad following a poor season so far, considering their pedigree as a top Eredivisie team.

According to football transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano via his official X handle, Carrizo is happy with the potential of playing for Ajax and the deal will be wrapped up soon. He wrote:
Ajax plan for Maher Carrizo to travel this weekend for medical tests and contract signing. €7m for 50% and €6m buy option clause for future 50% of the player.
Carrizo, 19, will be FC Midtjylland where he plays as a centre-forward to join Ajax. The Argentina national under-20 star is highly rated and a lot will be expected of him when he finally completes his switch to the Dutch league as early as this weekend or the start of next week.

Ajax already recruited Japan international, Takehiro Tomiyasu on free transfer and will hope his experience will help at the back after the departure of Jorrel Hato to premier league side, Chelsea at the summer.
Ajax are currently placed third on the Eredivisie table with 37 points after 20 matches so far and will be in action 13th placed Excelsior Rotterdam on Saturday lunch-time kick-off.
