Softfootball understands that Everton were forced to come from behind to earn a 1-1 draw against Leeds United, a result that leaves the visitors still searching for a league win on the road since September.
After the game Everton shared a post about the result via their official X account.

Following their recent 1-0 victory against Aston Villa after a 4-2 defeat to Brentford, Everton came into the match with renewed belief and quiet talk of a European push.
Leeds, on the other hand, looked sharper early on and created the first clear chance. Former Toffee Dominic Calvert-Lewin latched onto Brenden Aaronson’s clever ball and poked goalwards, only for Jordan Pickford to rush out and block bravely.

Leeds maintained control for much of the opening half, their relentless pressing and quick attacking transitions causing Everton problems. That pressure paid off on the half-hour mark.
Anton Stach’s low cross evaded Calvert-Lewin at the near post, but the ball rolled invitingly across the box for James Justin, who arrived to smash home his first goal in a Leeds shirt. The visitors smelt blood before the break, and Calvert-Lewin came inches away from a dream return goal, crashing an effort against the post.

A tactical adjustment changed the mood after half-time. Everton emerged more aggressive and purposeful, forcing Karl Darlow into action with an inventive outside-of-the-boot effort from Barry, which the Leeds goalkeeper did well to save.
Idrissa Gueye’s low delivery from the right was met by Barry, who lifted the ball into the roof of the net to level things up and continue his fine run of form.

The Toffees nearly completed the turnaround when Gueye struck the bar from the edge of the area, but that proved to be the clearest opening late on. In the end, time ran out without a winner.
Everton remain winless in five at home, while Leeds, now with six draws in their last nine, see their cushion above the relegation zone trimmed to six points. A point gained, maybe, but questions still remain.
