João Pedro was pleased with Chelsea’s overall performance after the Blues secured an impressive 3-1 victory away to Crystal Palace, a result that continued their positive momentum under new head coach Liam Rosenior, Softfootball reports.

The Brazilian forward played a key role in the win, getting himself on the scoresheet and also winning a penalty as Chelsea took control of the contest, particularly in the second half.

Speaking to the press after the game via the team’s official X handle, João Pedro highlighted the importance of a solid start and Chelsea’s improved composure after the opening goal. He said:

Yes, I think we started really good because to come here and not concede in the first 15 minutes is very important. In the first half, we didn’t control it that much. But then when Estêvão scored, you could breathe a little bit, to organise everything and come to the second half better. Palace is never an easy place, but we really quietened the crowd. Once we got that goal, we seemed to take control. I think we controlled the game in the second half because we scored early to make it 2-0. When you score 2-0, the other team is not ready for that. In the second half we controlled, we scored the third goal and at the end we concede, but good three points and now look forward.

João Pedro has made an excellent start to life under Rosenior, quickly becoming an important figure in Chelsea’s attack. The forward has now scored in both Premier League matches since the new coach’s arrival, having opened his account in the 2-0 win over Brentford on Rosenior’s PL debut before finding the net again against Palace.
With confidence growing and performances improving, Chelsea will be hoping João Pedro’s early impact can be a sign of things to come as they look to build consistency in the league under their new manager.
