Arsenal celebrated the huge win via their official X handle as the win takes them back to top of the table with 42 points, two more than their closest rivals Manchester City after Match-Day 18. They posted:

Mikel Arteta was happy with the return of Gabriel but the Brazilian defender could only start from the bench. Arsenal were confident after beating Everton 1-0 last weekend but knew their opponent on Saturday wasn’t going to be easy.

In a well contested encounter, it was the Gunners that took the lead as Bukayo Saka played a pass into Captain, Martin Odegaard and he finished as coolly as possible to give the home side the lead. It was the Norwegian first goal of the season.

The Gunners extended their lead in the season half when Declan Rice’s corner was flicked into his own net by Georginio Rutter, making it the fourth own goal that has gone Arsenal’s way in the last past four matches.
