The Portuguese coach, who has been backed publicly by club co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe, admitted that while the pressure remains high, he welcomes it. As reported by Softfootball, Ratcliffe reaffirmed his trust in Amorim’s long-term vision despite United’s inconsistent early form. Amorim discussed the importance of the fixture, acknowledging what it means to fans while insisting his players must treat it like any other game. He said:

I know what it means to everyone here. We need to approach every match with the same responsibility, whether it’s Liverpool away or a smaller opponent.

He also reflected on his side’s approach, stressing the need for intensity and aggression against Liverpool, which was posted on the club’s official X account. Amorim stated:

We need to be different from what we showed against Manchester City. If we are aggressive and stay focused, we can win any game.

The United boss confirmed that Lisandro Martínez remains sidelined, while Noussair Mazraoui’s fitness will be assessed closer to kickoff. The only real challenge, he noted, is managing the fatigue from international travel. He said:

Some players came back from Japan, so we have to deal with jet lag. But everyone’s confident and ready.

With belief building and Amorim’s message clear, Manchester United travel to Anfield knowing that victory could mark a turning point. Not only ending their drought on Merseyside but also sending a strong statement about their progress under their new manager.
