Tottenham Hotspur are edging closer to completing a sensational move for Paris Saint-Germain striker Randal Kolo Muani as Thomas Frank scrambles to bring in a new signing on deadline day.

Spurs have been active in the summer transfer market under new boss. The Europa League winners have already brought in Mohammed Kudus, Joao Palhinha and Xavi Simons to strengthen their squad.

With Dominic Solanke and James Maddison sidelined through injury, Tottenham’s urgency to secure attacking reinforcements had grown.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reports via his X account that Spurs have nearly reached an agreement on personal terms with the player. Talks with PSG continue, with the French club pushing for an obligation to buy. His post reads:

“EXCL: Tottenham have almost agreed personal terms with Randal Kolo Muani.

Negotiations ongoing with PSG on deal formula as revealed, with Paris insisting for an obligation to buy.”

The French forward, currently earning around £210,000 per week at PSG, had been widely expected to join Juventus earlier in the summer. However, Spurs have now made their move as they look to reinforce their squad ahead of a demanding season that includes a return to the Champions League.

Kolo Muani’s pace, strength and ability to operate both centrally and out wide make him a perfect fit for Spurs’ system. The French forward will add depth to a frontline that already includes Richarlison, Brennan Johnson and Mohammed Kudus.

Kolo Muani joined PSG from Eintracht Frankfurt in 2023 in a deal worth €75m. However, he struggled to live up to expectations in Paris. After a lacklustre first half of the season marked by limited minutes and inconsistent form, the 26-year-old revived his career with a productive loan spell at Juventus. He registered 16 goal contributions for the Italian giants and impressed during their Club World Cup campaign.
