Tottenham manager, Thomas Frank has informed that he won’t sign another striker ahead of the transfer deadline day on September 1 despite injury to Dominic Solanke.

Softfootball understands that the England international has struggled with fitness issues this season, leaving former Everton forward Richarlison as the only senior striker in the club and he really struggled against the Cherries.

Perhaps the arrival of Dutch star, Xavi Simons can help Tottenham’s creativity and bring more goals to the squad as the season progresses.

Speaking to Tottenham Hotspur’s official club media after the 1-0 defeat to Bournemouth, Spurs Coach Thomas Frank was asked if he needs to sign a new striker with the transfer window closing tomorrow. He replied:

“No. I would say not particularly. To have the three strikers in the squad can also cause a problem as you can only play one at a time. It’s a fine balance. I’m not saying we will never go for another striker at another time but I’m happy with Dom and Richarlison.”

He added:

“Sometimes, you know, we just take a little bit longer time. It’s easier. It’s not like he re-injured it again, so you can say if you have a muscle injury, then you can maybe reinjure, it’s nothing to do with that. It’s not progressing as quick as we hoped for, but we are still positive that it can be solved in the next two weeks.

“I’m hopeful he will be back after the international break.”

Before the start of the game new signing Xavi Simons was paraded for the fans and Spurs shared a video that captured the beautiful via their official X handle. Watch here.

Frank says that he is delighted with the signing of the Dutch international and looks forward to a greater future together for the team

He said:

“Yes, very excited, very happy that we signed him. I think it was a great signing from the club. He can play 10 or left winger, those are the two main positions.”

The Premier League will be on break for two weeks due to the international break.
