Liverpool’s Rodrygo Move Remains Unlikely as Deadline Approaches

Rodrygo’s future at Real Madrid has been one to watch all summer, with reports suggesting that a late move to Liverpool is growing increasingly unlikely before the transfer deadline, Softfootball reports.

The Brazilian winger has endured a difficult start under new head coach Xabi Alonso, with their relationship said to be strained following tactical disagreements and limited assurances over his role in the squad. This tension has continued to fuel speculations about a possible switch to the Premier League.

Providing clarity on the situation, transfer expert Florian Plettenberg revealed on his X handle, saying:

“It is currently very unlikely that a transfer for #Rodrygo to Liverpool will happen before the Deadline Day. #LFC

There is a good chance that he will stay at Real Madrid if nothing extraordinary happens now.”

Softfootball understands that while Liverpool boss Arne Slot admires Rodrygo’s versatility and attacking flair, the financial package of such a deal after bringing in high profile signing like hugo ekitike, combined with Madrid’s reluctance to part with him , make the move more unrealistic.

Rodrygo had a good season last year, scoring 14 goals across all competitions for Real Madrid, behind teammates like Mbappé and Vinícius, but still ranking among the club’s top playmakers. However, with new head coach Xabi Alonso coming in with a new tactical vision, Rodrygo’s playing time has become uncertain.
His ability to play on both wings makes him a top target for several european clubs, but this late in the transfer window, a ,move outside the bernabeu is highly unlikely for the brazilian forward
