Everton manager, David Moyes has hailed the exceptional performance of Jack Grealish in the Toffees 2-0 win over Brighton on Sunday evening.
Softfootball understands that Grealish provided two assists for Iliman Ndiaye and James Garner goals as Everton won for the first time at the Hill Dickson stadium.

Speaking with Everton’s official club media, David Moyes believes Grealish has something to prove and he is not surprised at his display for the Toffees.
Moyes said:
“Jack was game for it; he didn’t try to shirk anything. He didn’t want off after 60 minutes – no chance. He wants to show he’s the real deal.
“He probably has something to prove. I had something to prove over the years at different times. I think sometimes it gives you that challenge you have to be ready to take. Hopefully Jack is.”
Everton lost their first premier league game of the season 1-0 against Leeds United. Grealish played as a substitute in that game but was unable to help the Toffees as the home side ran out winners via a late second half penalty.
While Leeds went on to get hammered 5-0 against Arsenal at the Emirates , Grealish started his first start at Everton and didn’t disappoint as he was the inspiration behind a healthy win.
The former Aston Villa star is one of the most successful English players in the league, having won the Premier League, FA Cup, Carabao Cup and UEFA Champions League with Manchester City.
Pep Guardiola told him this summer that he was surplus to requirement and no longer needed at the Etihad. Grealish had a lot of big money offers from Saudi Arabia but decided to stay in the Premier League with Everton on a season long loan.
Grealish is yet to score for Everton but his two assists today helped the Toffees to their first win and first three points in the 2025/26 Premier League season and manager David Moyes will continue to count on him as they look to qualify for Europe at the end of this campaign.
