Contrary to the line-up that started against AC Milan a few days ago, Softfootball understands that Arteta will try out a new set of players, most likely the ones who finished the game off against AC Milan.
Against AC Milan, we saw William Saliba partner Riccardo Calafiori in the heart of defense with Ben White and Alex Zinchenko at full backs. Mosquera, who has started training already, might get the nod to replace Saliba in the Newcastle game as Arteta might consider giving Saliba some break.
Kiwior did not start the game but came on the in the second half and provided the assist for Bukayo Saka’s goal. He might get the nod to partner Mosquera on the day.
While Arrizabalaga who was impressive in the shoot-out against AC Milan did not start, he might get his full berth against Newcastle as well. Martin Zubimendi might get to play with his former Real Sociedad teammates as well, as Mikel Merino and Martin Odegaard might get the nod ahead Declan Rice and Ethan Nwaneri who started the first game.
Kai Havertz is the only striker available to the team hence he might be starting except there is a tweak in personalities that will see either, Trossard or Martinelli play as the forward. Ben White will keep his place as Timber is still gently getting to his best after surgery in May.
Brazilian defender, Gabriel Magalhaes might also sit this out as he is also being guided gently to his return after surgery in April.
Mike Arteta does have enough players to call on, on Sunday and he could also decide to start one of the shinning academy players in the squad.
Predicted XI: Arrizabalaga, White, Mosquera, Kiwior, Zinchenko, Zubimendi, Merino, Odegaard, Dowman, Trossard, Havertz.
The game is on Sunday at the Singapore National stadium to kick off by 12.30 GMT.
