The transfer window is filled with intriguing activities so far and Arsenal are not left out of the drama as they’ve made a massive decision over one of their star players.
Softfootball can report that the Gunners have terminated the contract of Takehiro Tomiyasu with immediate effect. The defender has struggled with injuries for the past two seasons, making just one substitute appearance during that period.

In a statement on its official website, Arsenal wrote: “Everyone at Arsenal Football Club would like to thank Tomi for his contribution to the club and we wish him and his family all the best for the future.”
The 26-year-old defender joined from Bologna in August 2021 and went on to make 84 appearances in all competitions during his time with the North London club.
The Japanese international made an early impact at Arsenal, playing as a right-back, he won the Gunners Player of the Month award in September 2021, an accolade he collected again in October, 2023.
Tomiyasu, who is referred to Tomi by most Arsenal fans has featured for his home country Japan 42 times, playing at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, 2022 World Cup and helping his nation reach the quarter-finals of the Asian Cup in February 2024.

Softfootball reported earlier that Tomiyasu will leave Arsenal with immediate effect after his contract was terminated. He now becomes a free agent and his next destination is still unknown at the moment.
Tomiyasu can play as a center back as well as a left back if need be but at Arsenal he played mostly as a right back.
