Nick Woltemade’s standout performances for both Stuttgart and Germany Under-21s have sparked serious interest from Real Madrid. The 23-year-old striker has enjoyed a breakthrough 2024–25 campaign, and now some of Europe’s elite clubs are circling, with Los Blancos among the front-runners.

Despite Kylian Mbappe being firmly established as the club’s central striker, Real Madrid’s management is actively searching for a different attacking profile to diversify their forward line.

Head coach Xabi Alonso reportedly sees Woltemade as a physical alternative who could provide depth and unpredictability.

Woltemade’s current deal with Stuttgart runs until 2028, and his transfer fee is expected to be in the region of £51m (€60m). While not a bargain, his recent form has made him a hot commodity, with Chelsea and Bayern Munich also monitoring the situation closely.

The towering 6ft 6in forward netted 17 goals in 33 games last season for Stuttgart, including 12 strikes in Bundesliga play. His exploits extended into international competition this summer, where he registered six goals and three assists to help Germany U21 reach the European Championship final.

Before joining Stuttgart in 2024, Woltemade came through Werder Bremen’s academy but struggled to shine at senior level there, scoring just twice in 51 appearances. However, his transformation at Stuttgart has turned heads and put him firmly on the radar of Europe’s top clubs.

With Real Madrid already boasting attacking names like Vinicius Jr, Rodrygo, and incoming talent Franco Mastantuono, adding Woltemade would not only enhance squad depth but bring a new dynamic to their attacking strategy.

Other strikers such as Niclas Fullkrug, Ante Budimir, and Roberto Firmino have been floated as options for Real, but Woltemade’s age, form, and ceiling make him a more strategic long-term investment.

As Germany prepare to take on England in the U21 Euro final, all eyes will be on Woltemade. A strong showing could accelerate Real Madrid’s pursuit, as they aim to secure one of the most in-demand young forwards in Europe.
