The result comes alongside Barcelona’s emphatic 7-2 victory over Racing Santander, where Raphinha reportedly delivered a stunning hat-trick. However, against Getafe, Gordon stole the spotlight by scoring his first Barcelona goal just two minutes into the match, with his right-footed effort deflecting past goalkeeper David Soria.

Barcelona maintained their attacking pressure, controlling possession and forcing Getafe deep into their own half. The visitors struggled to cope with the hosts’ pressing, and their defensive problems became more costly in the 30th minute. A poor execution from Zaid Abner Romero allowed Gabriel Jesus to capitalise and double Barcelona’s advantage.

Getafe attempted to respond but found few opportunities against Barcelona’s organised defence. Joan García remained composed whenever called upon, while Rodri controlled the midfield and helped Barcelona maintain their overwhelming possession advantage.

Barcelona continued to search for another goal after the break, with Lamine Yamal and Dani Olmo creating opportunities. Their pressure finally produced a third goal in the 73rd minute when Yamal delivered an excellent cross for Koundé, who finished confidently.

The goal was reviewed by VAR before being confirmed, leaving Getafe with little time to mount a comeback. Barcelona finished the match with 83% possession and nine corners, underlining their dominance.

The victory highlighted Barcelona’s attacking depth and midfield control, while Getafe struggled to register a meaningful response. Gordon’s breakthrough goal and Koundé’s contribution provided further positives for the hosts.
