Belgium started strongly and took control of possession in the opening stages. Their pressure paid off in the 20th minute when Godts produced a brilliant individual effort before finishing with his right foot to put Belgium ahead.
Italy struggled to create clear chances in the first half, while Gianluigi Donnarumma was forced into several important saves to keep his side within reach.
The hosts improved after the break and created a number of opportunities. Senne Lammens, however, stood firm in the Belgium goal, making crucial saves to deny Italy an equaliser.

Softfootball reports that Belgium’s disciplined defensive display and efficiency in front of goal proved decisive, as Italy dominated possession for much of the second half without converting their chances.
Belgium finished the game with 44% possession but produced enough attacking quality to secure the clean sheet and victory.
