Chelsea have no intention of allowing Jamie Gittens to leave on loan this summer despite interest from several Italian clubs.

Softfootball understands that Chelsea have rejected a loan approach from Roma for the England youth international, with the club making it clear that there is currently no possibility of a temporary exit.

Gittens is viewed as an important part of Xabi Alonso’s plans and Chelsea believe in the winger’s potential, meaning he is not available for either a loan or permanent transfer at this stage.

The Blues are therefore closing the door on approaches for the 21-year-old as Alonso continues to shape his squad for the new campaign.

Meanwhile, the situation is different for Nicolas Jackson, who remains available for a permanent transfer. Chelsea have also ruled out a loan exit for the Senegal international.

Chelsea signed Gittens from Borussia Dortmund in July 2025 for £48.5 million, with a further £3.5 million available in performance-related add-ons.

For now, Chelsea’s message is clear: Gittens is staying at Stamford Bridge and will be given the opportunity to establish himself under Alonso.
