Darwin Núñez is now close to joining Al Diriyah after a verbal agreement was reached with Al Hilal over a loan move for the Uruguayan striker.
The agreement is for a loan until June 2027, with Al Hilal covering Núñez’s salary. There is currently no buy option clause included in the deal.
Signatures are still required to complete the transfer, but an agreement is in place between the Saudi clubs and Núñez is now expected to undergo his medical, which is being booked.
The latest development comes after Softfootball reported that Núñez had never reached an agreement with either Besiktas or Trabzonspor despite reports linking him with both Turkish clubs.
No flight had been scheduled for the former Liverpool striker at that stage, as he was still assessing opportunities in Saudi Arabia and Europe.

Núñez’s future now appears increasingly clear, with Al Diriyah emerging as his next destination and the deal moving towards completion.
The striker is now closing in on a move to Al Diriyah from Al Hilal, with negotiations advancing towards the final stages.
The latest development ends speculation of a potential reunion with former Liverpool teammate Mohamed Salah at Trabzonspor, where the Egyptian has already completed his move from the Premier League club.
