Everton have officially completed the signing of Danish midfielder Christian Nørgaard from Arsenal in a deal worth £7 million, with the experienced midfielder putting pen to paper on a two-year contract at Goodison Park.

The 32-year-old ends a brief spell in North London after joining Arsenal from Brentford in 2025 for a reported fee between £10 million and £15 million. Softfootball understands that despite being part of Mikel Arteta’s Premier League title-winning squad, Nørgaard found first-team opportunities limited, making just 20 appearances in all competitions, including only seven Premier League outings.

Seeking more consistent playing time, the Denmark international has opted for a fresh challenge under David Moyes, where he is expected to play a key role in Everton’s midfield following the departure of veteran Idrissa Gueye.

Nørgaard’s arrival provides the Toffees with valuable Premier League experience, leadership and defensive stability as they continue strengthening their squad ahead of the new campaign.

For Arsenal, the transfer creates additional room within the squad as the club continues pursuing further midfield reinforcements during the summer transfer window. Everton supporters will now hope Nørgaard’s experience and composure can provide the platform for a stronger campaign under Moyes.
