Arsenal midfielder Declan Rice insists there is still plenty of time for the Gunners to challenge for the Premier League title this season.

Arsenal were sitting second in the table on 50 points, six points behind leaders Liverpool, who had a game in hand heading into their meeting with Everton.

The Gunners have already been eliminated from both domestic cup competitions, leaving the Premier League and UEFA Champions League as their remaining opportunities to win silverware this season.

Despite Liverpool’s advantage, Rice remains confident that Arsenal can still compete for the title if they maintain their focus and concentrate on their own performances. Rice said:

There’s still a really long way to go.

The manager said in a press conference the other week, no matter what, the only thing we can worry about is ourselves. But at the end of the season, we will be there.

The England international urged his teammates to continue believing in their ability and trust the work being done by manager Mikel Arteta and the coaching staff.

We can only keep believing in what we believe in, work on what we’re working on and have full trust in the manager, players and everyone around us that we can achieve great things.

Rice added that Arsenal must remain positive and continue pushing until the end of the campaign.
