Lille midfielder Nabil Bentaleb has revealed that Christian Eriksen played a crucial role in his recovery from cardiac arrest.
The Algerian international suffered the incident during a casual five-a-side match and was hospitalized for two days, but he has now received medical clearance to return to professional football. Softfootball reports that Eriksen’s personal experience provided invaluable support.
Bentaleb explained that speaking with Eriksen and former teammate Adam Lallana helped reassure him about the process and what to expect during his rehabilitation.

He described the period of uncertainty as difficult, noting that the fear of never playing again was a major motivator for his rigorous recovery efforts.
He shared his gratitude by stating:
I spoke to him, he helped me a lot. Also another player, Adam Locker.
They helped me by reassuring me on some points and warning me of what would happen.
Having this green light was a relief and something that allows us to plan and move forward.
