Christian Eriksen suffered a frightening moment during the Denmark vs Ukraine match after losing consciousness on the pitch. He lay on the ground for several minutes before eventually getting back up and walking to the ambulance by himself.

The Danish FA confirmed shortly after the incident that “Christian Eriksen is conscious and doing well under the circumstances.”
Denmark’s national team doctor, Morten Boesen, also reassured the public that the former Manchester United midfielder responded positively to treatment.
This was his statement:
Christian is doing well and walked off the pitch by himself. As I see it, the playmaker responded as he should.
He was briefly unconscious, but regained consciousness very quickly and we were quickly in contact with him.
He will now undergo further examinations at the hospital to determine what caused the incident. We are in ongoing contact with him and the doctors at the hospital.
But Christian is doing well and he asked me to send regards to all the players and tell them that he was okay.
Softfootball understands that Eriksen’s resilience remains one of football’s most inspiring stories. He famously survived a cardiac arrest in 2021, fought his way back to professional football, and continued representing Denmark at the highest level.

With over 150 caps, Eriksen’s legacy as one of Denmark’s greatest modern footballers is secure. Any decision about his future will ultimately depend on medical experts, with his long‑term health and well‑being taking absolute priority.
