Super Falcons defender Ashleigh Plumptre has sent a message of support to Nigeria ahead of their opening match against Malawi tonight at 9:00 p.m.
Plumptre was not included in Nigeria’s squad for the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) after failing to recover from injury in time for the tournament. She previously revealed that her body was not ready to compete, which ruled her out of joining the team for Morocco 2026.
Despite her absence, Plumptre showed her full support for the Super Falcons by posting a message that read:
“Go well girls 💚”

Softfootball gathered she shared the message while wearing a Nigeria retro jersey, standing firmly in solidarity with her teammates as they begin their title defence.
