Kyle Walker has admitted that fellow England international Tammy Abraham played a significant role in persuading him to complete his loan move from Manchester City to AC Milan.
The experienced defender joined the Rossoneri on loan until the end of the 2024/25 season, with the Italian club holding an option to make the transfer permanent for around €5 million. Should Milan activate the clause, Walker is expected to remain at San Siro until 2027.
Speaking to Milan’s media channels, Walker revealed that conversations with Abraham gave him confidence about making the switch to Serie A.
The 34-year-old also expressed his excitement about experiencing the atmosphere created by Milan supporters, describing their passion as a major motivation ahead of his debut.
Walker further explained his decision to wear the No. 32 shirt, saying it was inspired by former England captain David Beckham, who enjoyed a memorable spell with the Italian giants.
