Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou has confirmed that goalkeeper Antonin Kinsky will start against Arsenal in Wednesday’s North London derby. The young shot-stopper only joined Spurs from Slavia Prague last week but has already impressed with confident displays in cup victories over Liverpool and Tamworth.

Kinsky has adapted quickly to life in England and earned the trust of his manager ahead of one of the club’s biggest fixtures of the season.

Softfootball understands Postecoglou believes the goalkeeper’s mentality and willingness to deal with pressure have been just as important as his technical ability.

Explaining his decision, Postecoglou said:

You need to be well organised but you also need your goalkeeper to play a pivotal role. So far what I’ve seen of him, he’s embraced those challenges.

He added:

That really helped us because it gives confidence to the players around him because they know if it’s in his area he’s going to come for it.

Kinsky will now face his biggest test yet as Tottenham look to secure a positive result against Arsenal in front of their home supporters.
