Former Super Eagles coach Sunday Oliseh has hailed Newcastle United stars Alexander Isak and Anthony Gordon as the Premier League’s most underrated players this season.
Softfootball analyzed Oliseh’s comments after the duo inspired Newcastle to a 2-0 victory over Arsenal in the first leg of the Carabao Cup semi-final.
Isak opened the scoring before Gordon added the second goal as Eddie Howe’s side secured a valuable advantage ahead of the return fixture.
Introducing his reaction on X, Oliseh praised both players for their consistency and attacking quality, saying:
Sad day for Arsenal fans losing out to Newcastle, but I strongly feel these two players, Isak and Gordon, are arguably the most exciting duo and slightly the most underrated players of the Premier League this season.
The former Nigeria international also described Isak as his favourite player in the English top flight, applauding the Swedish striker’s impressive performances.
