Marc Cucurella has made a remarkable promise ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup final, revealing he will retire from international football if Spain defeat Argentina.
The Spain defender joked that he would also get a tattoo of head coach Luis de la Fuente’s face to celebrate the achievement.
According to Softfootball sources Cucurella said:
If we win, I will get a tattoo of De La Fuente’s face on my body and I will announce my retirement from international football. World Cup, Euros… what else can you do? From Monday I’d call him and tell him I’d leave it all.
Spain head into the final at MetLife Stadium as slight favourites after an outstanding campaign. La Roja have won six consecutive matches, kept six clean sheets and reached their first World Cup final since 2010 following a commanding 2-0 victory over France.
