Ghana midfielder Hafiz Ibrahim has expressed confidence that the Black Galaxies will overcome Nigeria in the second leg of their 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN) qualifier in Uyo.

The first leg ended in a goalless draw in Accra, leaving both sides with everything to play for as they battle for a place at the tournament. Softfootball understands Ibrahim is optimistic Ghana can secure qualification despite facing the Super Eagles on Nigerian soil.

Speaking ahead of the decisive encounter, Ibrahim said:

When we go out there and put our best foot forward, we know victory will be ours, so we are not afraid of anyone.

The Black Galaxies are aiming to qualify for a second consecutive CHAN tournament after reaching the quarter-finals in the previous edition. Despite appearing in two finals, Ghana are still searching for their first-ever CHAN title.

Nigeria, meanwhile, will be looking to take advantage of home support in Uyo as both West African rivals prepare for another fiercely contested encounter.

The winner of the tie will book a place at the 2024 African Nations Championship, a tournament reserved exclusively for players featuring in their respective domestic leagues.
