Gabriel Osho scored his first goal for Auxerre since arriving from Luton Town over the summer, netting in a 2-2 draw against Lens in Ligue 1 on Saturday.

The Super Eagles defender played the full 90 minutes and struck in the 73rd minute to restore parity in an entertaining encounter. Softfootball gathers that the result leaves Auxerre in ninth place on the table with 21 points from their opening matches this season.

The goal marks an encouraging milestone for Osho as he continues settling into life in French football following his summer switch, with the defender now having contributed directly to Auxerre’s attacking output as well as his usual defensive duties.

The 26-year-old produced a composed display at the heart of Auxerre’s defence, combining solid defensive work with his attacking contribution from set-pieces. His first goal for the club will boost his confidence as he continues to establish himself as a key figure in the team’s backline.

Auxerre will be hoping Osho can build on this performance in the coming weeks as they aim to maintain their impressive position in the Ligue 1 standings and push for a strong finish to the campaign.
