Former Nigeria international Dimeji Lawal has urged fans not to give up on Victor Boniface despite his continued goal drought for the Super Eagles.
The Bayer Leverkusen striker sits sixth in the Bundesliga scoring charts with six goals this season, yet he’s still searching for his first international goal.

Softfootball notes that Lawal remains confident the forward’s national team form will eventually match his club output. He said:
Boniface is a brilliant player as far as I am concerned. His commitment to both club and country has always been top-notch.
Lawal pointed out that every player goes through a rough patch and Boniface’s case shouldn’t be treated differently, adding:
Don’t write him off yet because every player has their difficult moment as well. I am confident Boniface will be a good asset for the senior national team.
The former international believes it’s only a matter of time before the Leverkusen man starts finding the net in Super Eagles colours, the same way he regularly does in Germany.
Patience, according to Lawal, is what the striker needs right now.
