Genoa have finalised an agreement with Olympique de Marseille for the signing of Ivory Coast midfielder Hamed Traoré on a season-long loan.
Softfootball understands that the deal includes an €8 million purchase option, giving Genoa the opportunity to make the transfer permanent at the end of the campaign. The 25-year-old is scheduled to undergo his medical next week before the move is officially announced.
Traoré is set for a return to Serie A after spending the past season with Marseille. Earlier in 2025, the French club signed the midfielder from Bournemouth on an initial loan deal that included an option to buy.
The former Sassuolo and Bournemouth midfielder is no stranger to Italian football, having built his reputation in Serie A with composed displays, technical ability, and his knack for contributing in the final third. His experience is expected to provide Genoa with added quality and creativity in midfield ahead of the new season.

Genoa view Traoré as an important addition as they continue strengthening their squad, with the club hoping the Ivorian international can quickly rediscover the form that made him one of the most highly rated midfielders during his previous spell in Italy.
