Softfootball gathered that Adams’ journey began at Jamba Football Academy in Nigeria before he made the bold move to Europe at just 18 years old, signing for Norwegian second‑tier side Sogndal Fotball in August 2018.
Despite harsh weather, isolation, and a major injury that ruled him out of the 2020 season, Adams pushed through, scoring 18 goals in 55 appearances.
His rise continued:
- Eliteserien breakthrough (2021–2023): Adams signed a three‑year deal in Norway’s top flight and exploded with 28 goals in 50 matches, attracting interest across Europe.
- Montpellier HSC (2023–2025): He moved to France for €4 million, quickly adapting and scoring 11 goals in 18 months, boosting his continental reputation.
- Sevilla (2025–present): In January 2025, Sevilla signed him for €5.5 million, tying him down until 2029. His form earned him a senior Nigeria call‑up later that year.
Adams made his Super Eagles debut on October 10, 2025, coming off the bench to score an 80th‑minute winner against Lesotho. He later featured at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, cementing his place as one of Nigeria’s rising stars.

Before his senior breakthrough, Adams represented Nigeria at the 2019 FIFA U‑20 World Cup, making two appearances.

Today, Akor Adams is living the dream he once slept on bare floors to chase, playing for one of Spain’s biggest clubs and representing Nigeria at the highest level. His story is a powerful reminder that perseverance, patience, and belief can change a person’s life.
