Juventus have confirmed their interest in signing Aston Villa goalkeeper Emiliano Martínez this summer, with the Argentina international emerging as the club’s leading target between the posts.
The Serie A giants are keen to add an experienced goalkeeper as part of their ongoing squad rebuild, but negotiations could prove challenging due to Aston Villa’s valuation.
Martínez’s stock has continued to rise after another outstanding performance at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, where he played a crucial role in Argentina’s dramatic 3-2 victory over Egypt to send the reigning champions into the quarter-finals.
Softfootball understands Juventus CEO and general manager Giovanni Carnevali acknowledged the club’s admiration for Martínez while admitting that the asking prices for several transfer targets have been difficult to justify.
Martínez is playing at the World Cup, so we have to wait and see. The figures being quoted for some of these players are unrealistic.
