Super Eagles defender Gabriel Osho delivered another solid performance as Auxerre claimed an impressive 3-1 away victory over Marseille in Friday’s French Ligue 1 clash.
Softfootball understands that Osho played the entire 90 minutes as Auxerre stretched their unbeaten run to four league matches, recording three wins and one draw during the impressive spell.
Hamed Traore, Lassine Sinayoko and Gaetan Perrin found the net for the visitors, while Mason Greenwood scored Marseille’s only goal from the penalty spot.
Sinayoko handed Auxerre the lead in the 10th minute before Perrin doubled the advantage on 43 minutes. Traore made it 3-0 just before the break, putting the visitors firmly in control.
Greenwood reduced the deficit from the spot in the 65th minute, but it proved to be only a consolation as Auxerre comfortably secured all three points.
The victory lifts Auxerre to sixth place in the Ligue 1 table on 16 points after 11 matches, pending the outcome of the remaining fixtures this weekend.
Friday’s encounter marked Osho’s ninth league appearance of the season for Auxerre. The former Luton Town defender is also part of Nigeria’s squad for the upcoming 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Benin Republic and Rwanda.
