Former Super Eagles striker Odion Ighalo, owner of the Ighalo Academy, has delivered a heartfelt message to young footballers and dream chasers during a recent address at his academy.
Softfootball understood that while speaking to the players, two academy talents were preparing for moves to Europe, a moment that filled Ighalo with pride as he encouraged the next generation to stay committed to their journey.
During his address, Ighalo shared a personal reflection from his own career, noting that although he spent 10 years playing in Europe, the money he earned during three years in Saudi Arabia surpassed his decade‑long European earnings. His message was aimed at teaching patience, perspective, and long‑term thinking.
He told the players:
“Be patient and wait for your time. Your moment will come. Stay focused, keep working, and trust the process.”
